In an effort to grow its regulated company throughout the Middle East and North Africa, BitOasis, a digital asset platform launched in the United Arab Emirates, has named Jonathan Rigg as CEO, replacing co-founder Ola Doudin.
In 2016, Doudin co-founded BitOasis and oversaw its growth into one of the most well-known bitcoin platforms in the area. Over a million clients have been served by the business throughout the area.
With clients ranging from retail investors to family offices and institutions throughout the UAE, Bahrain, and the larger market, BitOasis has reported spot trading volume of almost $8.5 billion.
Two years have passed since BitOasis was purchased by India’s CoinDCX in 2024. Rigg has expertise in banking, digital assets, and fintech, including companies engaged in stablecoin payments, over-the-counter trading, cryptocurrency infrastructure, and banking as a service.
His prior positions at Deutsche Bank and HSBC were mostly in capital advising and prime brokerage. Rigg most recently worked for Fuze Finance for three years as Vise President, Commercial, where he was a member of the founding team and contributed to the company’s early growth.
Rigg stated that as the platform expands, he will concentrate on enhancing BitOasis’ offerings, broadening its capabilities, and upholding security and trust. “As the platform expands, trust and safety will continue to be a key lever in everything we do, ensuring customers can engage with confidence,” he stated.
After obtaining a broker dealer license from the Central Bank of Bahrain, the company expanded its regulated presence in the area by launching BitOasis Bahrain in May 2025.
In addition to serving institutional clients through its OTC desk, the company has obtained regulatory permission for derivatives products that are preparing for market debut.
Rigg is the ideal candidate to take over as BitOasis moves into its next phase, according to Doudin, because of his leadership and experience. She claimed that in addition to meeting regulatory milestones and providing services to over a million clients, the company has contributed to the development of the region’s digital asset sector.
